The TIE/Ty Typthoon was an advanced TIE series starfighter developed for use in 250 ABY by the Dark Empire, when it split off from the Galactic Federation Triumvirate and the Triumvirate Civil War began. The fighter was most notable for it's Stygium cloaking device, which made it expensive and thus a limited number were produced, given to only elite TIE pilots of the Imperial fleet. It was developed from another advanced TIE series fighter known as the TIE/Cy Cyclone starfighter, and essentially heightened the characteristics of the Cyclone, as well as added the cloaking device. Both the Typhoon and Cyclone were very limited, though the Typhoon was rarer.
