Larry Gilliard, Jr., born September 22, 1971 in New York City, New York, USA, is a New York City-based, character actor. He stars as D'Angelo Barksdale in first and second seasons. He has appeared in The Wire creator David Simon's earlier series Homicide: Life on the Street. He has appeared in The Waterboy (1998), Gangs of New York (2002), The Machinist (2004), and Brother to Brother (2004).
