Croco is a crocodilian thief & ally of Mario who first appeared in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. He is shown to be a very close friend of Boshi as the two of them are shown walking off into the distance together at the end of Mario RPG. He also seems to have a rivalry with Bowser as they are seen taunting each other throughout the game. Interestingly, he bears more than a passing resemblance for Sale, one of two anthropomorphic crocodiles seen in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (the other being Schule Donavitch).
