James Cavanaugh was a prisoner onboard the Vortex Rikers. He was designated as Prisoner 853. Cavanaugh was sentenced to be executed, but his body was spared by the crash of the ship; albeit Cavanaugh either dying or temporarily losing conciousness. When Prisoner 849 starts to explore the ship, the player can activate the computer programmed to send the electricity into his body, thereby finishing the execution the guards had started.
