Operation Paper Clip was an operation by the US Military to retrieve Nazi scientists after World War II. After the war, Nazi scientists were secretly brought to the U.S. for work on a variety of projects, including the space project and the attempts to create an alien-human hybrid. Their knowledge was also used as part of the MK-Ultra mind control program. Victor Klemper was among the scientists who joined the Syndicate, where he met Bill Mulder. Conrad Strughold, a German industrialist and owner of the Strughold Mining Company, may have also been connected to Operation Paperclip in some manner.
