This EX170 features a light American maple body mated to a one-piece maple neck with a traditional neck joint with a metal plate. It has a 22-fret maple fingerboard with dot position markers. The pickups are Ibanez Powersound humbuckers in the bridge and neck positions flanking a single coil. Other components include a synchronized tremolo bridge. The EX170L (maple fretboard) is a left-handed version. The EX1700 is a similar model with cream binding and gold hardware. The EX160 is a related model with a single-coil pickup in the neck position and a rosewood fretboard.
