Ji'e'toh is the Aiel system of honour and obligation, which is so complex that few wetlanders can understand it. The practice of serving as gai'shain after having been defeated in battle is one example. Breaking ji'e'toh is considered one of the worst things an Aiel can do, if not the worst.
