Echani was a form of martial art taught to every stormtrooper and Imperial officer in the Galactic Empire as part of standard training, which also included the art of Zavat and the Imperial Combat Exercises. Admiral Rae Sloane's personal assistant Adea Rite attempted to use her training in the arts on the planet Akiva in order to subdue the escaped prisoner Wedge Antilles; however, she was defeated when Antilles accidentally shot her with a blaster during the brawl. The art shared its name with the Echani species.
