An astilfe is a small, stealthy, venomous monster that appears in Might and Magic: The Dreamwright. One night, when Hitch is traveling with Diligence's caravan, he spots an astilfe among the yeofolk, and is attacked by it. He describes it as much smaller than a human, with "impossibly long arms, pale eyes the size of saucers, and a mouth that glittered like a sack full of broken glass." When threatened, it emits a high-pitched, chattering shriek, before delivering a painful sting and latching firmly to its victim, rocking back and forth. Hitch said the pain was like nothing he had ever felt before.
