The 1977 Firecracker 400 was a Grand National (now Nextel Cup) event held at Daytona International Speedway on July 4, 1977. Richard Petty dominated the holiday classic, leading 95 of the 160 laps in route to a 17.7-second victory on Darrell Waltrip. Points leader Cale Yarborough finished 23rd and held a 15-point championship lead on Petty. Stats
