The Israel Defense Force is the military of Israel. Like the United States military, gay people are allowed to join and be out, loud, and proud (i.e. themselves). Also, like the US military, the IDF kills a vastly disproportionate number of civilians to each soldier killed. In a recent campaign, over one thousand Palestinians were killed (with only about two hundred combatants; guess who the other 800 were) with 13 Israeli soldiers killed.
