The Silver Age version of Dan Garrett was an archaeologist based out of Egypt, who discovered an ancient tomb of the Pharaoh Kha-ef-Re which housed a magical blue scarab. The scarab gave Dan super strength, flight, and the ability to shoot lightning bolts. By uttering the words "Kaji Dha," he would be changed into the hero known as the Blue Beetle. His enemies included the Giant Mummy, the Red Knight, Mentor the Magnificent, Praying Mantis-Man, Magno Man, Mister Crabb, the Chlorophyll Man, Mr. Thunderbolt, the Eye of Horus, and Jarvis Kord.
