Major General A.W.J. Chryshantha De Silva, USP, ndc, psc, SLE is a Sri Lankan general, who is the current Military Secretary, Sri Lanka Army General Staff. Educated at the prestigious Royal College, Colombo, De Silva joined the Sri Lanka Army as an Officer Cadet in February 1980. After basic training he was commissioned into the Sri Lanka Engineers as a Second Lieutenant in 1981. During his military career he served as the Commandant of the SLEME training School in Embilipitiya, Brigade Commander of the 56-2 and 51-2 Brigades, Assistant Military Secretary, Director Operations and Director Plans at at Army Headquarters and Commander Forward Maintenance Area, Wanni. He was a member of military delegations to Malaysia and China.
