Rovers ended their home campaign in the 2011–12 season in emphatic style, seeing off Accrington Stanley 5–1, just a fortnight after thumping Burton Albion 7–1 in the penultimate home game. A brace from Matt Harrold and a further goal scored by Andy Dorman saw Rovers race into a 3–0 lead inside half an hour, before Kevin McIntyre pulled a goal back before the break to give Stanley some hope of taking something from the game. The Gas maintained their dominance in the second half however and substitute Matthew Lund scored twice in what was the final game of his loan spell in Bristol to make the final result 5–1.
