The Palpatine-class Star Destroyer was a type of Super Star Destroyer that was painted black. Hard to see, its lasers would erupt into lightning upon impact, frying all nearby circuits. It was also a shock vehicle, able to go right up to an enemy vessel without detection, and then annihilate it with firepower. It saw action during the Second Galactic Civil War.
