The RGA42FM features a mahogany body with an arched flamed maple top bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with offset dot position markers. Components include dual, passive Ibanez Quantum humbucking pickups and a hard-tail bridge. The RGA742FM is a similar seven-string model. An earlier model with the same name which was discontinued in 2012 had active pickups.
