The Imperial naval base was a facility used as the headquarters of the Imperial Navy Special Operations Command located on the Inner Rim Territories world of Moorja. It also served as the headquarters of the elite Obsidian Squadron. On orders of Emperor Palpatine, in 0 BBY, the fort housed an experimental energy generator known as the Star Core. The Rebel Alliance attacked the base to destroy the Star Core or possibly capture. The attack failed, with Rebel forces taking heavy casualties.
