You race as Lightning McQueen in a 3 lap race around Tailfin Pass. There are 3 items to collect, and if you collect them all, you will unlock some kit-parts. You will get a gold trophy for first, silver for 2nd, and bronze for third. If you earn a trophy, you will unlock Santa Carburera as a place to explore and Road Race 2.
