"The Stripper" is an instrumental composed by David Rose, recorded by the Joe Loss Orchestra in 1958 and released four years later. It evinces a jazz influence with especially prominent trombone lines, and evokes the feel of music used to accompany striptease artists. In the 1970s, English rock band The Sweet always used the original song as an intro to their performances. American rock band Mötley Crüe occasionally used the original song as an intro during performances in the late 1980s, most notably at the one-time Moscow Music Peace Festivalwhich was held in August 1989.
