Richard "Crammer" Kramer is an assistant managing editor at the Los Angeles Times. He is also referred to as the "Axman" by some employees. In May of 2009, he issued a Reduction-in-Force form to Jack McEvoy, laying off the reporter. Two weeks later he tried to rescind the form, but McEvoy turned him down, having been offered both a two-book deal by a publisher and an investigative job with The Velvet Coffin. Molly Robards is his secretary.
