Liu Yan (onyomi: Ryū En) is a warlord and former governor of Yi Province. He is the father of Liu Zhang. He moved to Yi Province during Emperor Ling's reign and set up his base there. He tried to become independent from the Han, so he used Zhang Lu to attack Hanzhong.
