Realising that he’s at risk of losing the sale, Tom falsely claims that all civil action has been agreed out of court, much to Matthew’s concern. After learning that the Kings will go unpunished for the house collapse, a drunken Bob storms round to Home Farm with Jamie and Jean, determined to force a confession. Tom instead offers compensation on the condition that no future civil action is taken.
