When Maria Connor attended an appointment at Weatherfield General for an ultrasound scan during her second pregnancy, she was understandably apprehensive. With in-laws Barry and Helen Connor at her side for support, Maria was fearful and at first refused to let the Ultrasound Technician perform the procedure - Helen explained that Maria's first pregnancy had resulted in a stillbirth. The compassionate technician apologised and gently persuaded Maria to have the scan and after being shown the images on the monitor, it was confirmed that the unborn baby was healthy and well. The relieved family thanked the technician.
