Mothers Opposed to the Occult (MOO) was an anti-occultism pressure group founded by Joyce Summers in early 1999 while under the thrall of Hans and Gretta Strauss. The children influenced all members to target any witches living in Sunnydale. MOO started off small, trying to remove certain "offensive" books from the high school library, but soon went to worse extremes. They went so far as to attempt to burn Buffy Summers, Willow Rosenberg, and Amy Madison at the stake. It lost much of its membership and momentum after the demon influencing the minds of most of Sunnydale's population was destroyed. The Sunnydale High Yearbook contained a message from MOO, warning graduating students of the dangers occult influences could have. This suggests that at least a few members tried to keep the organ
