Gundil was a mole of Redwall Abbey. During his Dibbun days, he was good friends with Egburt and Floburt, but when he was about 18 seasons old he was better friends with Mhera and Cregga badgermum. His grandfather owned a flagon shaped like a mole, which led to him identifying a squirrel-shaped flagon which had a puzzle from Abbess Songbreeze Swifteye in it. Although he didn't think himself bright, with his mole logic he helped Mhera and Cregga to unravel the puzzle.
