The Soyuz-class was a United Earth designed warship introduced in 2155 as a response to the growing hostilities of the Romulan Star Empire. Armed accordingly, the Soyuz served well into the 23rd century. They were decommissioned in 2288. since the commissioning of the Miranda subclass Soyuz-class in 2252, the original Soyuz-class was redesignated the "Archangel-class". (Star Trek: The Romulan Wars)
