Proto-Mando Basic was the precursor of Galactic Basic. It was developed by the MANDALORIANs as a token of their goodwill towards the less civilized population that made up the majority of the galaxy. Unfortunately, many aruetiise were unfamiliar with the MANDALORIAN way of handling the intricacies in pronunciation of the language, leading to potentially dangerous misunderstandings. For example, "McCoy'val Dar Tau'ri s'a ' ! ran'g b'roka Mando'ade ka'r'ta" meant "Toto, I've got a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore", while "McCoy'val Dar Tau'ri sa' ' ! ran'g b'roka Mando'ade * kar'ta" meant ""Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn".
