The Kounat Royal Family consists of a group of individuals who are responsible for the organization and development of the city and its inhabitants. Their descent is of the most capable person chosen by the deities to rule over the capital of Kounat, a civilization that was bred from the combined efforts of both the gods and humans. They are thus most likely to be deities themselves. The royal family were the only people capable of withstanding the "Geas" that came with the ability to control the Soul Stone and the Aernas Hammer.
