Mergil is a mercenary given to Sulla by the Phoenix Gang, along with Axanamander, Greagor and Turine. He is a botanist and an excellent potion brewer. Mergil is also a poisoner, marrying rich widows by using love potions, then killing them with poison some time later to inherit their wealth.
