Lino Alvarez (born 18 July 1944) was a general authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) from 1992 to 1997. Following his service as a general authority, Alvarez served as principal of the LDS Church-owned Benemerito Prepratory School in Mexico City, Mexico. Alvarez was born in Arteaga, Coahuila to Lino Alvarez and Margarita Vasquez. In 1956, when they were living in Saltillo, the Alvarez family joined the LDS Church. Alvarez served as an LDS Church missionary in the West Mexican Mission from 1965 to 1967, spending a good part of his mission in Sinaloa.
