Thomas J. Nettles (b. 1946), currently Professor of Historical Theology at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, he is regarded by some as one of the foremost Baptist historians in America today. Nettles earned his M.Div. and Ph.D. degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Nettles was formerly on the faculty of Trinity Evangelical Divinity School where he was Professor of Church History and Chair of the Department of Church History. He also taught church history at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary.
