Cleckstarr Lepus Montisle, also known as Clecky, was a male mountain hare of the Montisle family, which hailed from the far north. Being from the north, his fur turned white in the winter, and in the spring was patched brown and white. He wore a white tunic and he often boasted of his deeds. Clecky was a very good friend of the owl Gerul, with whom he traveled, and both shared a great love for food. He met the Redwallers when traveling through Mossflower Woods with Gerul on the night that Martin II, Rollo, and others were investigating the skeleton of Graylunk.
