A minority of the Gortokians Subterranean race formed a religious cult which worshiped a demon, whose identity has not yet been determined. This demon transformed his worshipers into a new race of Subterraneans known as the Lava Men, who abandoned the Gortokian civilization. Lava Men are humanoid in height and form, but they have red skins of rock-like consistency. Upon death, a Lava Man immediately decomposes into dust. The most influential living shaman of the Lava Men is Jinku.
