Alexander Caldecott was a Manticoran citizen and an officer of the Royal Manticoran Navy. He was a cousin of the Baron of Yellow Oak. Holding the rank of Captain in 1529 PD, he served as Recruit Training Syllabus Officer at the RMN Bureau of Personnel. He devised a plan requiring all recruits in RMN boot camps to receive the same food rations, even though some among them (like the heavy-worlders from Sphinx) needed larger portions to sustain their genetically engineered metabolisms. He expected the "normals" among their comrades to give up part of their rations, thus strengthening unit cohesion. (MA1)
