Suzie was a customer in Café Main Street who was rude to Ruby Haswell. Brenda Walker also in the café at the time, commented to Ruby and Bob Hope that Suzie had been in before and was just the same then. When Suzie left the seating area to go to the bathroom, Brenda chanced the opportunity to seize her purse from her bag in her absence. Suzie returned to the café later that evening, telling Bob that her purse had gone missing and subsequently accusing Ruby of stealing it. Bob defended Ruby and Suzie was last seen storming out threatening to go to the police. The following day, Bob accused Ruby of stealing the purse and she walked out in protest, leaving Brenda feeling guilty.
