Galactic civilizations may or may not exist. If galactic civilizations exist they are communities of Intelligent aliens. Any alien civilization that we encounter will almost certainly be incalculably far in advance of us technologically and may consist of machine intelligence. Galactic civilizations are classified into three types: Humans are currently classified as a Type 0 civilization, since we have not yet mastered the use of the resourses here on Earth.
