As a child, Chika was often mistaken as Namikaze Minato's sister and was very close to Uchiha Mikoto despite the Kurans and Uchihas not being the best of friends. She was on the same squad as Hiyashi Rukia and Redi Yuki, their jônin being Tsunade herself. Thanks to being a Kuran, Chika was very skilled in using genjutsu. The effect that her Cursed Eyes had her opponents was to paralyse them, though she couldn't look away or blink if she wanted them to remain frozen. Unfortunately, she wanted to become a medical ninja and no Kuran had ever achieved success in that field.
