Rolf Mehlen was a German veteran of World War II who joined West Germany's emergency militia during World War III. During WWII, he had served in the Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler (LAH), which was part of the Waffen-SS. After the war, he removed his blood-group tattoo, a good thing since in April 1951, Soviet troops were known to summarily execute Germans who had the tattoo. This article is a stub because the work is part of a larger, as-of-yet incomplete series.
