Ronnie Carroll was a Northern Irish singer and politician. He began his music career in the 1950s and first attempted to represent the United Kingdom in the 1960 Contest but he would prove more successful two years later and would also return to represent the nation a year later. As of 2017, he remains the only artist to have represented the nation in consecutive years. In his later years, he became a politician but proved unsuccessful. In 2005, he a comeback album and died in April 2015 at the age of 80.
