"Hell Bound" is the fourth episode of the fifth season of Angel and the ninety-second episode overall. Written and directed by Steven S. DeKnight, it was originally broadcast on October 22, 2003 on the WB network. Spike is being tormented by the spirit of a brutal surgeon named Matthias Pavayne. He uses magic to send the loose spirits of Wolfram & Hart to Hell in his place. Fred invents a one-time use machine to make Spike corporeal, but Spike ends up pushing Pavayne into the machine to protect Fred.
