The Bartimaeus Trilogy is a Fantasy Trilogy by Jonathan Stroud. The trilogy alternates between the first person story of Bartimaeus, a “Demon” summoned to the world by magicians, and the third person accounts of Kitty and John Mandrake. John Mandrake, also known by his birth name Nathaniel, is a magician, in London, where Magicians rule over “commoners”, or people without magical ability's, who are treated with contempt by the magicians, Kitty is one of these, but unlike the majority she seeks to overthrow the Magician government of London.
