Notable features of the RG421EX include a bound mahogany body, a Wizard III neck with a bound rosewood fretboard with white dot inlays. Other features include Ibanez pickups and a fixed bridge. The RG421 is very similar except that it lacks the body and fretboard binding and features cosmo black rather than black hardware. Another similar model with a quilted maple top, the RG421QM, is also available. The RG421EXL is a left-handed version.
