XQ1s were made of a single large central hub module with three large docking bays protruding from the center. The hub had a fairly large storage section that allowed smooth transfer of cargo. While some were used for military and others were for commerce, all versions certainly weren't unarmed. Each XQ1 carried six laser cannons and six turbolaser batteries to defend itself. While this wasn't impressive, it could defend itself long enough to allow personnel to escape. The weapons even could be set to fire automatically.
