The Jaradan language was an intricate language spoken by the Jarada. Intricacies of the pronunciation of Jaradan words include: an elongated "s" sound, denoted by a double-bar notation, and a held "z" sound, denoted by an inverted "t" (unless it is followed by three wavy lines, in which case the "z" becomes a "b"). Jean-Luc Picard was instructed to learn a Jaradan greeting during a brief contact mission to their homeworld in 2364.
