The Mount Tantiss project was Grand Admiral Thrawn's operation to use Spaarti cloning cylinders to create new soldiers and pilots for his forces. Based at Mount Tantiss on the planet Wayland, Thrawn selected his best personnel, including Lieutenant Creb of Black Wing Squadron, to serve as templates for the clones.
