John Doggett is a character in The X-Files television series, and appeared as the main character in season 8 and 9, taking over from protagonist Fox Mulder. He is an agent within the FBI who finds himself assigned to the unit known as the X-Files which deals with unexplained cases. In season 8 his partner is Dana Scully, and in season 9 Monica Reyes. He is played by Robert Patrick, who is well known for playing the T-1000 in Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
