The Sons of Rum'jal Saga began in the year 5 ABY in a world parallel to that of the traditional Star Wars saga. The main conflict of this period was between the Force-sensitive cult known as the "Sons of Run'jal" and the group that would later become the Plenary Order of the Force: a band of Jedi and Sith who combined forces to destroy the fanatical Sons.
