David Jones VC (10 January 1891 – 7 October 1916) was an English recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. Jones was 25 years old, and a serjeant in the 12th Battalion, The King's (Liverpool) Regiment, British Army during the First World War when the following deed took place for which he was awarded the VC. He was killed in action at Bancourt, Somme, France, on 7 October 1916 and is buried in Bancourt British Cemetery.
