Aunt Ruth is Sheldon's deceased aunt. She is mentioned in "The Engagement Reaction". According to Sheldon, Ruth died in a hospital when she went in to visit Sheldon's Uncle Roger, caught something and died a week later. The two of them now share a coffee can on Sheldon's mother's mantel.
