Alanine has a tendency to form part of a helix, as part of the "MALEK" group of amino acids. In the Foldit Lua interface, the functions structure.GetAminoAcid and structure.SetAminoAcid use lowercase "a" for alanine. For more, see Alanine on wikipedia.
